Image Comics and Devil's Due Studio have planned some major happenings for the G.I. Joe comic series in 2003.  In addition to the G.I. Joe vs. Transformers crossover series, which is slated for June with cover illustrations by fan favorites J. Scott Campbell and Kaare Andrews, veteran penciller Mike Zeck, who provided covers for numerous G.I. Joe comics during the 1980s, returns to sequential illustration with his first ever full-length G.I. Joe story, for an action-packed, all-silent issue (G.I. Joe #21).  Meanwhile hot artists Tony Harris and Francis Manapul will provide covers for G.I. Joe: Frontline in March and July respectively.

In addition to all this artistic talent, top comic scribes David Mack, Paul Jenkins and Sean McKeever will each be writing a separate issue of G.I. Joe: Frontline.  Joshua Blaylock, whose writing has helped G.I. Joe regain its popularity, will start his final story arc as head writer with issue #22 of the G.I. Joe series.
