DC Entertainment, partnering with Save the Children, International Rescue Committee, and Mercy Corps, is once again combating the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa with the multi-million dollar We Can Be Heroes giving campaign.
 
The program will provide food, medicine, and other resources to more than eight million desperate people living in Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya, areas plagued by years of drought and political turmoil.
 
This is the second year of We Can Be Heroes (see "Justice League Fights Hunger in the Horn of Africa"), which DC says is "the biggest philanthropic initiative in DC Entertainment and its parent company, Warner Bros.', corporate history."
 
Facilitated through a super-hero-themed crowdfunding campaign hosted on Indiegogo, We Can Be Heroes is made up of several mini-campaigns throughout the year, each featuring members of the Justice League:  Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg.
 
Fans donating to the cause will receive such incentives as a signed and numbered Batman: Earth One Vol. 1 hardcover, a We Can Be Heroes T-shirt with original Batman art by Jim Lee, a Warner Bros. Animation studio tour, two passes (including hotel and airfare) to the Comic-Con International:  San Diego Experience with Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, and much more.
 
Online auctions, super-hero-inspired vehicles, and special rates on digital bundles will also help raise money for We Can Be Heroes.
 
Phase one of the campaign, focusing on Batman, takes place April 2nd through May 7th.
