Guardians Chronicles is a semi-cooperative board game of superheroes and villains in which the four brave superheroes of the Liberty Patrol attempt to frustrate the dark schemes of supervillain Pr. Skarov. Industry veteran Fred Condette, who has worked for Rackham, Descartes, Tilsit, and Asmodee, designed Guardians Chronicles, which features artwork by comic book artist and writer Louis. Iello, which is currently sponsoring a $40,000 crowdfunding effort for Guardians Chronicles on Kickstarter that is already 70% subscribed (and has 31 days remaining), plans to create a series of Guardians board games. Iello also plans to offer the Guardians Chronicles board game to the trade in the fourth quarter of 2013 (assuming the Kickstarter campaign reaches a successful conclusion).
The Guardians Chronicles game will have an MSRP of $69.99. The deluxe game box will include 4 Heroes miniatures, each of which comes with a character sheet and a set of 7-10 action cards, 1 Pr. Skarov miniature and character sheet, 3 Sisters Kinoichi miniatures with character sheets, 1 supervillain miniature with character sheet, 20 Androids and Gynoids miniatures, 9 double-sided room tiles, 20 Event cards, 4 heroes dice, 4 villains dice, 5 neutral dice, and tons of tokens.
