King Features Syndicate will represent Archie Comic characters Betty and Veronica for product licensing, according to License!. The new relationship will kick off this week at Licensing Expo. Targeted product categories will include apparel and fashion accessories, electronic accessories, stationery and gifts. Only those two characters are mentioned; it’s not clear why the rest of the Archie Comics characters were not included. King Features runs a full service licensing agency in addition to its comic syndication and other businesses.
Archie also has a live action movie in the pipe (see “Archie Movie Plot Reveals”), which will presumably have its own licensing stream.
