Tripwire will celebrate its 21st anniversary in the comics industry with a combination of the old and the new in a deluxe format, print edition this August. Retailing for $24.99, the 180-page trade paperback collects classic Tripwire interviews with creators such as Mike Mignola, Alan Moore, Frank Quitely, Grant Morrison, Peter Milligan, James Robinson, and many more.
Along with an introduction by Mark Verheiden, the book also includes new material and articles on industry trends and developments, including a retrospective on cinematic adaptations of comics and graphic novels, a feature on 21 of 2000AD's greatest creators, an examination of digital comics, and other topics. Furthermore, alongside a gallery of images including both reprints and rarely seen illustrations, Tripwire 21 will also host artistic contributions from Tim Bradstreet, Howard Chaykin, Dave Dorman, Garen Ewing, Duncan Fegredo, Henry Flint, Phil Hale, Michael Kaluta, Joe Kubert, Roger Langridge, Mike Mignola, Mike Perkins, Sean Phillips, Frank Quitely, Walter Simonson, Drew Struzan, Ben Templesmith, and Chris Weston.
From a self-produced, stapled fanzine to a full color print magazine, Tripwire has seen many incarnations in its lengthy history (see "'Tripwire' 20th Anniversary Edition").
