Kodansha Comics has announced that its bestselling manga series, Attack on Titan (see "June BookScan--Top 20 Graphic Novels") , will move to monthly publication in print and digital beginning in August.
Started in 2010 in Japan, the series rose to immediate acclaim, with sales averaging over one million copies per volume (see "'Attack on Titan' Sells Nine Million"). The English language version launched in 2012. April 2013 witnessed an anime adaptation that debuted simultaneously in Japan and the United States.
Kodansha is also releasing Fairy Tail monthly (in print, vs. twice a month digitally).
