Action Lab’s original graphic novel Vamplets Vol. 1: The Nightmare Nursery, due out in September, had a nice write-up this week in USA Today's Pop Candy by Whitney Matheson, who said she "was charmed by the tale."  This is the first Vamplets release by Action Lab; it features a story by Middleton and David Dwonch, with art by Amanda Coronado and Bill Blankenship.  The 48-page hardcover will retail for $19.95. 

The property, designed by famed toy designer Gayle Middleton, kicked off a few years back, with Comic Images as its first licensee, for plush (see "Comic Images Gets 'Vamplets'").  Middleton designed the look of the new My Little Pony line and The Littlest Pet Shop.
