Apparently deciding to do something about torrenting of Doctor Who, and to make live viewing an event, BBC has announced that The Day of the Doctor, the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special, will be simulcast at the same time regardless of time zones in the U.K., U.S., Canada, Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico, according to Variety.  The actual time has not been set, but it will be on the previously announced date of November 23ed.

Theatrical screenings in 3D are also planned.
