20th Century Fox Television has sold cable and streaming rights to The Simpsons to FXX, the new channel in the Fox family targeted at 18-34 males.  The value of the deal was estimated at $750 million (Variety) to $900 million (The New York Times).

Episodes will be aired on the network, which launched this fall in the slot previously held by Fox Soccer, and streamed on FXNow, a yet-to-be-launched app.

In addition to its first-run airing on Fox, the show has been in broadcast syndication since 1993, but this will be the first deal for cable or streaming.

The show has recently completed its 24th season and has a deal in place for the 25th, after a difficult dispute with the talent on the show which was resolved with pay cuts (see "'Simpsons' Fight Settled").
