Danny Cannon, who directed the pilots for and exec produced the CSI franchise, will do the same for the Gotham pilot, according to Deadline. Cannon is also exec producer and directed the pilot and other episodes for Nikita on the CW, and directed the 1995 Judge Dredd movie (which had mixed reactions, see "New 'Judge Dredd' Film Green Lit").
Fox has placed a series order for Gotham, with The Mentalist showrunner Bruno Heller and Warner Bros. TV producing (see "'Gotham' on Fox"). Cannon is a big-time addition to the project, which seems to be gaining momentum. The series will focus on a young Commissioner Gordon, sans Batman.
