Sales on the top comic titles were lackluster in December, reflecting the meager 1% increase in comic sales year over year (see "December Direct Market Up 5.93%"). Only three titles sold over 100,000 copies in December, the lowest number since May. All three (Origin II #1, Avengers #24.NOW, and Batman #26) were over 119,000, though, with Origin II #1 over 131,000.
Cover price seemed to have driven the 18% graphic novel growth in December, with three top twenty books at $99.99 or more. With around 3,000 sales on each, those three titles alone accounted for nearly $1 million in sales in December.
