DC Entertainment and Dynamite Entertainment announced a new digital-first miniseries which will team up Batman ’66 with The Green Hornet and Kato. The 12-part series will be released biweekly online beginning May 21, with the first print edition arriving June 4.
The series will be celebrity penned by Kevin Smith (Clerks) and Ralph Garman (Family Guy), with art by Ty Templeton (Batman Adventures, The Simpsons). Cover art will be done by Alex Ross. Michael Allred (Madman) will do a variant cover for print issue #1.
The new mini-series will serve as a follow-up to the 1960s TV series crossover that brought Batman, Robin, Green Hornet and Kato together to fight crime during the second season live-action 1960s TV series. The two part episodes "A Piece of the Action" and "Batman's Satisfaction" pit the crimefighters against Colonel Gumm in a complicated plot involving each others’ mistaken intentions and a heist of rare stamps. This time the dynamic quartet will face a very different General Gumm.
