The long-gestating Ant-Man project took a hit earlier this summer when Marvel Studios parted ways with writer/director Edgar Wright, who evidently didn’t take kindly to the studio’s plans to have his script rewritten (see "Marvel Loses Director, Showrunner"). After dumping Wright, Marvel moved quickly, hiring Peyton Reed to direct and bringing in frequent Will Ferrell collaborator Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights) to produce a new version of the script, even as Wright’s frequent collaborator Simon Pegg lamented the discarding of Wright’s Ant-Man screenplay (see "Simon Pegg on 'Ant-Man' Changes"). Entertainment Weekly reports that the project is on track to meet its release date and will begin filming next month.
