At San Diego Comic-Con, ICv2 caught up with Alex Segura, Archie Comics’ Senior Vice President--Publicity and Marketing, and he shared information on plans for Archie’s 75th Anniversary, which will include a deluxe art book release.
"We announced that Craig Yoe, who has a great history of packaging books and overseeing a lot of high end volumes, is going to be teaming with our Editor-in-Chief, Victor Gorelick, to do a 75th Anniversary book timed to our 75th Anniversary, which is in two years," Segura said. "With Victor’s 56 years of experience at Archie, he is THE resource for all things Archie. We’re excited to have him, and we’ve been combing through our archive, so this will be a must-have for new and old fans."
While the project is not finalized, Segura did outline general plans for the oversized art book. "It’s going to be a hefty volume, there’s a lot of ground to cover," he said. "To get an idea, we’ve done two art books with Craig and Victor already so, it will be similar, but a little more page-count wise."
Segura also told ICv2 that there are plans for an Archie Day or similar event(s), and plans for a 75th Anniversary licensing stream, but that at this early stage, most 75th anniversary projects are still in development.
