Marvel Comics has released a first look at Edge of the Spider-Verse #1, a five-issue miniseries that sets the stage for the Spider-Verse crossover event in which every known Spider-Man from every universe will unite in one action-packed saga. The Edge of the Spider-Verse miniseries (see "Teams, Covers for 'Edge of the Spider-Verse'") spans multiple comic book universes with Edge of the Spider-Verse #1 by David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky, and Richard Isanove, which is due out on September 10th, kicking off the miniseries with an all new tale set in 1939 featuring Spider-Man Noir, the ultimate pulp fiction incarnation of Peter Parker, who encounters Mysterio at the New York World’s Fair where all the fun begins.
Spider-Man Noir, is set in the mean streets of the 1930s Big Apple, but even time itself is no barrier to impending Spider-Verse event and, according to Marvel, “it will take thousands of Spider-Men (and women) to battle the coming darkness of the Spider-Verse (see "Marvel Announces 'Spider-Verse'")."
Other Edge of the Spider-Verse tie-ins include Superior Spider-Man #32 & #33, Amazing Spider-Man #7 & #8, and Spider-Man 2099 #5.
