Marvel has released the Chip Zdarsky ‘Deadpool Party Sketch’ Variant cover that will be exclusive to the Avengers & X-Men: AXIS launch party kit available for retailers to promote the launch of Avengers & X-Men: Axis #1 in October.
Similar to other in-store event kits (see “Marvel Goes Big for 'Original Sin'” and “'Death of Wolverine' Memorial”), Marvel will offer promotional products, exclusive giveaway items, and this limited edition variant cover as part of the promotion. The special Inversion Looper promo item, which features art by Paul Renaud, was showcased with the first announcement of the launch parties (see “Marvel Unveils 'Inversion Looper' In-Store Promo”).
In addition to the main cover by Jim Cheung, and the exclusive Deadpool Party Sketch variant (which is doubly appropriate, given Marvel’s variant cover focus on Deadpool in October: see “'Deadpool' Anniversary Variants in October”), several other incentive variants will be available. There is a Skottie Young variant (pictured here), an Inversion variant (pictured below) by Gabrielle Dell’Otto, as well as a covers yet to be revealed by Milo Manara, and the “Young Guns” artists Mahmud Asrar, Nick Bradshaw, Dave Marquez, Sara Pichelli, Valerio Schiti and Ryan Stegman .
