Jeffrey Lunsford of Spud's Emporium of Comics and Games saw our coverage of Marvel Previews (see 'Marvel Ads Previews Supplement') and had this to say:

I am amazed by the inventiveness of the 'great minds' at Marvel marketing.  In a time when the economy seems to have more downs than ups, Marvel finds yet another way to take money from customers without giving them an actual comic book.  Like most dealers, a tool like Previews is either given away where possible or sold at cost.  With increases like this, the later option definitely comes into play.  At cost, a copy of Previews will take from the customer the same amount of money as a monthly title.  That is now one less title for any budget minded consumer suffering the same limits imposed upon them in this disposable income drought that the economy has currently foisted upon all of us.  Most tools are meant to make it easier and broaden the horizon for their intended purpose.  It's nice to see that Marvel is 'consistent' in keeping 'limits' in place, for customers as well as us retailers, who 'ought to know our place.'
