Warner Bros. is near getting a pilot order for Titans, a one hour live action drama, from TNT, according to Variety. The new series would be based on the 80s DC Comics New Teen Titans series, probably the most popular print iterations of the characters, and feature Nightwing, Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg, according to the report.
Writers Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes will exec produce. Goldsman was attached as executive producer of a feature film based on the property back in 2007 (see "'Teen Titans' Movie in the Works”). Goldsman was a consulting producer and writer on Fringe, and won an Oscar for his screenplay for A Beautiful Mind, and fewer accolades for his scripts for Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.
The chibi versions of some of the same Teen Titans characters are currently featured in Teen Titans Go, an animated series airing on Cartoon Network (see "'Teen Titans' Return to Cartoon Network").
