Marvel has announced it will partner with Disney sister company ESPN to help cross-promote the network’s first College Football Playoff with eight variant covers in January.
The "IN" Variants will be available for All-New Captain America #3, Amazing Spider-Man#12, Ant-Man#1, Avengers #40, Hawkeye vs. Deadpool #4, Hulk #10, Legendary Star-Lord #7, and The Punisher #14.
In order to be "in" the playoffs, schools and their teams must campaign to compete with a 12-person selection committee that will decide what teams will participate. So Marvel has created its own campaign poster-style variants for the eight monthly titles. All eight titles release on January 7th.
