ComicsPRO has removed the name of the director under investigation for embezzlement from its website. Gary Dills of Phoenix Comics and Toys, listed as a director as recently as last Friday, is no longer on the site, and has been identified in a communication to the organization’s membership as the director who resigned and is being investigated (see "ComicsPRO Embezzlement Investigation").
Dills was a member of the comics retailer organization’s founding board in 2005 (see "A New Direct Market Comic Retailer Organization"), and has also been an officer (see "New ComicsPRO Officer, Director"). Dills' retail operation has stores in Northern Virginia and Columbus, Ohio.
The most common reaction we hear to the news is disappointment, a sentiment we share.
