Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jed Whedon has confirmed a narrative connection between the show and The Avengers: Age of Ultron movie, Entertainment Weekly is reporting.

"You should expect something," Whedon teased.  "The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under.  Obviously, we’re included in that."

The connection will not be as big as the cross-over from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, though.  "I don’t think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did," S.H.I.E.L.D executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen added, "but there will be connections."  She was referring to the HYDRA infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D. which brought the organization down, and the TV show picking up the pieces in the aftermath of that event.

Coulson has already mentioned Baron Von Strucker in a recent episode, and the character will be played by Thomas Kretchmann in Avengers: Age of Ultron (see "Geek Movie, TV Round-up").

Marvel premiered footage for the movie during the TV show in October (see "Another Minute of 'Age of Ultron'").
