Inkworks announced today that it has acquired the license to produce a series of trading cards based on the Hellboy movie, which horror maven Guillermo del Toro is currently directing in Prague. The anticipated blockbuster film based on the Dark Horse comic series by Mike Mignola will debut in the coveted Memorial Day weekend slot during the spring of 2004. All the details concerning the Hellboy trading card release have not been finalized at this time, but fans can expect lots of autograph cards, costume relic cards, and at least one complete set of the regular numbered cards in every box. As is its usual practice Inkworks will produce a deluxe collector's album designed specifically to hold the entire Hellboy trading card series. The cards should ship in early May, well in advance of the film's Memorial Day weekend release.
