IDW Publishing, which is quickly becoming the premier publisher of horror comics in the U.S., has announced that its CVO: Covert Vampiric Operations one-shot has spawned both a three-issue mini-series and a major video game from Konami.  Konami, publishers of Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Castlevania, likes the CVO property so much that it has become a minority owner and a critical partner in CVO's development.  Konami will spend a small fortune to develop the CVO video game, assuring that this will be nothing less than a state-of-the-art video game release.

While the Konami video game is in production, IDW will debut a three-issue miniseries, CVO: Artifact ($3.99), in October.  Novelist Jeff Mariotte will write the miniseries and Gabriel Hernandez will provide the art.  Series creator Alex Garner, of Danger Girl and Gen13 fame, will provide the cover for the first issue of the miniseries.
