CrossGen Chief Financial Officer Mike Beattie has resigned and been replaced by Bret Sears, who was promoted from Vice President of Budgeting. Sears, a former bank CFO, has been with CrossGen since last summer. CrossGen did not respond to a request for the reason Beattie left the company. Regardless of the reason, the transition comes at a less than ideal time; CrossGen is experiencing financial difficulties and attempting to close a new equity financing round (see 'Interview with Mark Alessi'). A CrossGen spokesperson said of Beattie, 'CrossGen greatly values the work that Mike accomplished in his four years with the company, and wishes him all the best in all his future endeavors.'
