According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gina Wendkos (The Princess Diaries) will pen the screenplay for the live action adaptation of Paul Dini's Jingle Belle graphic novel, which is published by Oni Press. Because of its holiday-themed plotline -- Santa's disaffected teenage daughter accidentally puts Christmas in jeopardy -- Jingle Belle stands a good chance of getting made and the hiring of Wendkos indicates that the studio is serious about getting this film, which also offers a great part for a teenage starlet, on track. Revolution Studios, which is co-producing Jingle Belle with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison production company (see 'Revolution Options Paul Dini's Jingle Belle'), appears to be serious about moving this project along.
