The Necessaries Toy Foundation has announced the March 2004 debut of the Bunny Duck, 17-inch figure sculpted by Nathan Cabrera and based on a character from the paintings of Todd Schorr, which encapsulates the dynamic behind so many classic Chuck Jones cartoons featuring Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny.  The tension between what Paul DiFillippo calls 'raw duckish energy, connivance and bluster' and 'bunnyish sloth, subtlety and misdirection' is apparent both in Schorr's conception of the Bunny Duck and in the memorable cartoon clashes between Daffy (like Leno he just tries too hard) and Bugs (like Letterman he always keeps his cool).  Like Robert Williams Todd Schorr has made a career out of distilling the essence of key elements of popular culture into a highly original art style, which blends Disney and Dali, Fleischer and Magritte.

The Bunny Duck figure has four points of articulation and comes with two heads, a forked neck, two pumpkins and a bonus 'Secret Mystic Serpent.'  The Bunny Duck Figure, which is clearly targeted at discerning collectors of the popular arts, has a suggested retail price of $45.
