Warner Home Video has announced the February 3 release of the DVD edition of Superman: The Last Son of Krypton.  The 61-minute animated feature from 1996 features the talents of Paul Dini, Bruce Timm and many of the other behind-the-camera figures responsible for the breakthrough success of the Batman Animated series, as well as the voices of Tim Daly, Dana Delany, Clancy Brown, and Malcolm McDowell.

The feature length cartoon retells Superman's origin story and depicts the young hero's first clash with Lex Luthor.  Although previously available on VHS, this is the first DVD edition of the film and it contains a number of extra features, including: character bios, a 'How to Draw Superman' segment, the Escape from Planet Krypton DVD Challenge game, and bonus trailers.  The suggested retail price of just $14.97 indicates the downward price pressure on catalog DVD material created by the plethora of new releases of both current and catalog titles.
