IDW Publishing has announced plans to issue Spookhouse, the first in a two-volume collection of artist Scott Hampton's ghost story work.  The book includes both painted comic stories and prose tales illustrated by Hampton.  In addition to his artistic accomplishments Hampton has also written some excellent stories, including 'The Upturned Stone,' which is included in Spookhouse along with tales by Clive Barker, Robert E. Howard, E.F. Benson, Montague R. James, and W.W. Jacobs.  IDW is publishing the 136-page full color Spookhouse trade paperback in March with a cover price of $19.99.

March also marks the return of veteran horror scribe Steve Niles' popular 30 Days of Night saga of vampires operating 24/7 during the all-encompassing Alaskan winter dark.  In addition to Niles, who provides another harrowing tale of gathering gloom and lurking evil, original 30 Days artist Ben Templesmith also returns for 30 Days of Night: Return to Barrow, a 32-page full color comic with a cover price of $3.99.  Columbia Pictures has optioned the 30 Days of Night property and Sam Raimi is set to produce, though no start date or casting has been announced.
