According to the Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter David Hayter will write and direct Black Widow (Natasha Romanov) for Lions Gate (see 'Marvel Expands Relationship with Lions Gate'). The movie's currently planned for 2006 (see 'Another Marvel Movie Update'). Hayter is turning into the comic movie specialist, with X-Men and X2 to his credit, as well as an assignment to rewrite the Iron Man movie (see 'Iron Man Movie Gets a New Writer'). According to an interview on Ain't It Cool News, Hayter tried to get his first directorial shot on Watchmen, for which he penned the screenplay (see 'Aronofsky To Direct Watchmen'), but now it looks like Black Widow. According to the Hollywood Reporter article, Hayter named his daughter Natasha after the character when she was born this month. MORE SHOWBIZ
