Dynamic Forces has announced the Christmas release of a Marv Statue sculpted by William Pacquet, the first product in a new line of merchandise based on Frank Miller's Sin City.  Miller is currently co-directing (with Robert Rodriguez) a film version of Sin City with an all-star cast including Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Maria Bello, Benicio Del Toro, and Jessica Alba (see 'Robert Rodriguez to Film Sin City').

William Pacquet, who sculpted the Marv figure, has created over 40 figures for DC Direct including; Nightwing, Dark Knight Returns, Joker, Spectre, Simon Bisley's Batman, and the new Lobo statue.  Pacquet worked with Miller on the Tenth Anniversary Dark Knight Returns Statue, which won the Wizard Fan Award for best sculpture, and Miller is equally enthusiastic about Pacquet's rendering of Marv stating, 'This was never an assignment for William.  This wasn't a job somebody handed him.  This statue bugged him until he had to let it out.  It's gorgeous, and inspired. Very cool.'

Look for details about this and other Dynamic Forces'Sin City projects in the near future. The Sin City movie could well provide pop culture retailers with one of the best merchandising opportunities in years thanks to hip nature of the hardboiled property itself, which could have considerable appeal to a large segment of moviegoers, but which is likely to remain under the radar (at least at first) of the blockbuster-obsessed discount chains.  With the Sin City graphic novels and ancillary items from Dark Horse as well as Dynamic Forces' Sin City merchandise, retailers will in all likelihood have a broad range of Sin City items available.
