According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Cartoon Network is picking up a half-hour series based on Aaron McGruder's Boondocks newspaper strip, probably for its Adult Swim block. The series will be produced by Sony, which is also developing a Boondocks feature (see 'Sony Options Boondocks').
Unsurprisingly, Fox reportedly passed on the series based on a lefty comic strip earlier this year after seeing a sample.
The Boondocks trade paperbacks are top selling strip reprints in bookstores.
