Persepolis 2, the autobiographical graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi (see 'Book Houses Offer Major Graphic Novel Releases') got a rave review in the first slot (page 7) of the New York Times Book Review on Sunday. Calling it 'wildly charming,' reviewer Luc Sante said of the sequel to the best-selling Persepolis 1 (see 'Persepolis, the Stealth Hit'), 'It would have made a stirring document no matter how it was told, but the graphic form, with its cinematic motion and its style as personal as handwriting, endows it with a combination of dynamism and intimacy uniquely suited to a narrative at once intensely subjective and world-historical.' Persepolis 2 is scheduled to street August 31st.
