The final numbers are in, and the San Diego Comic-Con International hosted over 87,000 different people at its four-day show in July, up around 24% from its 2003 tally of around 70,000 (see 'San Diego Attendance Tops 70,000'). This is a 'unique visitor' count; San Diego counts a four-day attendee as one, not four. This large increase in attendance matches our on-site observations and the total unavailability of accommodations during the show (see 'San Diego Sold Out'). And it keeps San Diego attendance well above the #2 show in the categories we cover -- Wizard World Chicago, which also had a solid increase to over 54,000 this year (see 'Wizard World Chicago Over 54,000').
