Tokyopop will include CDs in select volumes of its Ragnarok manhwa sold at Barnes & Noble, which will allow purchasers to play the Ragnarok MMORPG (massively multi-player online role playing game) free for 15 days. Created by Myung Jin Lee, the 10-volume Ragnarok series is the first Korean manhwa to inspire a Japanese anime series, Ragnarok: The Animation, which is currently running on TV Tokyo (see 'Ragnarok Anime Series'). The Ragnarok MMORPG, which is produced by the Korea-based Gravity Corp., is currently available in more than 100 countries.
Tokyopop released the tenth and final volume in its highly popular Ragnarok manhwa series last April. Adding the MMORPG CD should boost backlist sales through Barnes & Noble.
