Desperado Publishing has announced it will publish Stardust Kid, by the same creative team that did CrossGen's Abadazad, J.M. DeMatteis, Mike Ploog, Nick Bell and Dave Lanphear.  The first issue of this five part all-ages series will be released in May, solicited in the Image Comics section in Diamond Comic Distributors' Previews catalog (see 'Image Signs Desperado Line').  The covers will be by Mike Ploog.
 
A number of companies are seeing opportunity in the space vacated by CrossGen.  In addition to  Desperado, new publisher Kandora (see 'Kandora Announces First Titles') and Disney Publishing, which will publish Abadazad with the rights it acquired from the bankrupt CrossGen (see 'Disney Publishing Acquires CrossGen Assets').
