The Hollywood trades are reporting that Kevin Spacey has been signed to play the role of Lex Luthor in the Superman feature that will start shooting March 3rd.  Director Bryan Singer has previously worked with Spacey in The Usual Suspects, for which Spacey won an Oscar.   

 Kate Bosworth is in negotiations to play Lois Lane, but is not yet signed. 

 

Brandon Routh has been cast to play Superman (see 'Superman Movie Gets Producer, Star').
