IDW Publishing has announced an agreement with Universal Studios to publish a comic book mini-series based on the offbeat zombie comedy, Shaun of the Dead.  The comic book series will have the full participation of the film's screenwriters, Edgar Wright (the director) and Simon Pegg (who starred as Shaun).  The four-issue mini-series will follow the storyline of the film but will also function as a sort of 'director's cut' thanks to the inclusion of deleted scenes, unshot scenes and other bonus material.

Zach Howard (Detective Comics) will illustrate the comic and Jason Brashill will provide painted covers.  Chris Ryall is scripting the series with input from Wright and Pegg.  The32-page, full color first issue of the Shaun of the Dead  mini-series debuts in June.
