Titan Books has announced an agreement with IPC Media to rescue and restore the classic British comic strips, The Spider and The Steel Claw, which were published in the 1960s and 1970s in magazines such as Lion and Valiant.  Titan has established itself as one of the top UK publishers of collector's editions of classic comic strips with its editions of Dan Dare, Modesty Blaise, James Bond and Charley's War. 

Titan has scheduled the first volume of The Spider, which details the deliciously evil machinations of the eponymous criminal mastermind, in June, marking the fortieth anniversary of the character who first appeared in Lion in June of 1965.   In the Fall Titan will follow up with the release of the first volume of The Steel Claw, featuring exciting tales of the criminal/secret agent.  The compilations of The Spider and the The Steel Claw will feature background information, restored art work and new painted covers by Gary Leach and Brian Bolland, respectively.
