The new ownership of Cracked Entertainment has installed new management, including two veterans of Perelman-era Marvel.  Tom DeFalco, who was EIC at Marvel for eight years, has been named Editor-in-Chief of Cracked MagazineDeFalco's credits also include a long bibliography of comics, graphic novels, and children's books.

And one-time marketing wunderkind Sven Larsen, who was Director of Marketing and Creative Services at Marvel in the Perelman era, has been named Associate Publisher of Cracked Entertainment.  Since his time at Marvel, Larsen worked for Penguin Books and Time Warner Book Group where he oversaw book marketing campaigns.

Attorney Monty Sarhan has been named Publisher and CEO of Cracked Entertainment, and Justin Droms, formerly of Scholastic, was named Associate Editor.

The new management team was brought in by the new owner, Teshkeel Media Group, K.S.C. of Kuwait City, Kuwait, which announced that it had acquired the company in February.  Teshkeel was founded in late 2004 by Dr. Naif Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa to develop original children's content throughout the world, with a focus on the Arab and Islamic markets.

Prior to the sale to Teshkeel, Cracked was owned by Dick Kulpa, who bought it from World Weekly News publisher American Media in December 2000.  When Kulpa acquired the magazine, the circulation had dropped to 25,000 copies per issue, according to an article in the Rockford Register Star.

Cracked recently spent about a year headquartered in Rockford, Illinois, where it was moved by Kulpa to be near the local investors (including Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen) who ponied up $150,000 to help keep the magazine afloat last year.

TV and DVD rights to Cracked properties were recently sold (see 'Cracked Magazine Coming to TV and DVD').
