Dynamite Entertainment has announced a comic book series based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon Dynomutt, Dog Wonder, also known as The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt, which ran for two seasons as part of the Scooby Doo/Dynomutt Hour in 1976-1977 and Scooby’s All-Star Laff-A-Lympics in 1977-1978.  The Dynamite comic, by writer Jimmy Palmiotti and artist Pasquale Qualano, features the wealthy inventor Radley Crown reinventing himself as a costumed crimefighter and his dog as a superpowered robot following an attack by a gang of criminals.  Together the Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, Dog Wonder set out to protect their home, Big City, from the forces of evil. The first issue will be released in September 2025 with covers by Lucio Parrillo, Joseph Michael Linsner, Francesco Mattina, and Amanda Conner.

"This is not the origin of Blue Falcon, but a story about a man and his dog and their connection throughout a major event in both their lives," Palmiotti said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  "Number one for me in writing this series is that it has to be fun—well, my version of fun anyway.  I will say that some of it is much darker than people might remember, but it makes sense to the characters.  I updated the world around them a bit for sure."

Dynamite signed a licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products in 2023 to publish comics based on their properties (see “Dynamite to Publish Comics Tied to Warner Bros. Animated Series”).

DC Comics did a Super Sons/Dynomutt Special #1crossover comic book back in 2018 (see “DC Expands Hanna-Barbera Line”).
