Torsten Adair of Barnes & Noble in Lincoln Triangle in New York City saw Steven Bates' column on Top Comic Quotes (see 'I Think I Can Manage--Top Comic Book Quotes') and adds a few of his own:
Having read Steven Bates' column concerning comic book quotations, I brainstormed the following while riding the subway to work. Apologies for any misquotes:
- 'With great power comes great responsibility.'
- 'Tandoori to go. That's all they went out for, these people... Tandoori to go.'
- 'Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends.'
- 'Merv Griffin! Merv Griffin! Merv Griffin!'
- 'Never play an ace when a two will do.'
- 'I made it by being tougher than the toughies, and smarter than the smarties. And I made it SQUARE!'
- 'Oh, So?'
- 'I'm just a poor lonesome cowboy, a long, long way from home.'
- 'These Romans are crazy.'
- 'Spa Fon'
- 'Squa Tront'
- 'Great Caesar's Ghost!'
[I prefer the more modern, 'Great Shades of Elvis!']
- 'Klptzyxm'
- 'This looks like a job for... SUPERMAN!'
- 'Hoka Hoka Gunkledunk! Hoka Hoka Hey!'
- 'Kimota'
- 'Humor in a jugular vein'
- 'It's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide'
- 'By the hoary hosts of hoggoth.'
- 'And at times the fact of her absence will hit you like a blow to the chest, and you will weep. But this will happen less and less as time goes on.'
And since Steve used a few quotes which first appeared in other media, I include:
- 'Thing ring do your thing.'
- 'Wonder Twin powers activate!'
