Marvel Enterprises, Inc. announced that it has extended its contract agreement with Joe Quesada, Editor-In-Chief of the company's Marvel Comics division.  As part of the new deal, Mr. Quesada will also take on the added role as Chief Creative Officer, Publishing.

During Quesada's tenure as Marvel EIC, the company has completed a major turnaround, and though much of Marvel Enterprises' success must be attributed to the successful pursuit of a Hollywood-fueled licensing strategy, Quesada has managed to keep Marvel at the top of the comic publishing business, employing such strategies as the introduction the extremely successful 'Ultimate' line and the expansion of Marvel's trade paperback publishing program.  Quesada has also managed to attract a number of writers from other disciplines. The latest crop of Marvel acquisitions from fields outside of comics includes novelists such as Jonathan Lethem (see 'Jonathan Lethem Pens Series for Marvel') and Charlie Huston (see 'Novelist to Revive 'Moon Knight'') and TV and film creators such as film director Reggie Hudlin (Black Panther) and The O.C. producer Allan Heinberg (Young Avengers).
