In the U.S. Tokyopop and Viz Media may be fierce competitors as the top two English language manga publishers, but in Germany Tokyopop, Viz and Shueisha have formed a strategic partnership.  Under terms of the agreement Tokyopop's German subsidiary, Tokyopop GmbH will publish German language versions of a number of Shueisha titles published by Viz in English (and other languages) including Bleach, The Prince of Tennis and Death Note.  Shueisha is a partner in Viz Media (see 'Sho-Pro Viz Merger Complete').

Tokyopop's German subsidiary has been extremely successful in the German language marketplace, and since Viz does not have a major German language presence, Shueisha titles will clearly benefit from this agreement with Tokyopop.
