Wizard Conventions has announced that Wizard World Chicago attracted more than 56,000 attendees during its four-day run over the past weekend, making it the largest Wizard World Convention to date.  The total represented close to a 4% gain over last year's attendance of 54,000 (see 'Wizard World Chicago Over 54,000').  Wizard World Chicago remains the number 2 pop culture convention (for the categories covered by ICv2) trailing only the San Diego Comic-Con.

This year's all-star lineup at Wizard World Chicago included Sin City creator Frank Miller, and top-rung comic artist Jim Lee (Batman: Hush) as well as movie director (and sometime comic book scribe) Kevin Smith, actor Jason Mewes, top comic scribes Brian Michael Bendis and Jeph Loeb and a number of superstar comic book artists including Alex Ross, Michael Turner, and Marc Silvestri, to name just a few.
