Chicken Little won the box office derby for the second weekend in a row with only a 20% drop from its first weekend, a strong showing.  It grossed around $32 million, bringing its total to date to over $80 million. 

 

The only new movie in the top ten with any pop culture products associated with it, Zathura (from the Jumanji universe), opened second with a $14 million gross, a respectable open.

 

Legend of Zorro dropped around 34% to $6.6 million for the weekend, bringing its total to $39.5 million.

 

The over-all box office total was 15% below the same weekend last year, but next weekend's big opening, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, should turn things around, at least for that weekend.
