Variety is reporting that Atmosphere Entertainment and Platinum Studios are teaming up to produce a live action film based on the graphic novel Killing Demons published by Engine Press.  Mark Canton of Atmosphere and Scott Mitchell Rosenberg of Platinum will produce the film and raise half the production costs themselves, a tactic that Platinum, in conjunction with IDG Films and Relativity Media, is using on its live action film of the Witchblade comic (see 'Back-to-Back Witchblade Features').

Canton ran Columbia Tristar and previously worked with Rosenberg on the adaptation of the little known Men in Black comic into a big screen blockbuster.   Canton's Atmosphre Entertainment is just finishing up production on an adaptation of Frank Miller's 300.

Killing Demons, which was written by Peter Siegel and illustrated by Brent White, is the story of a reclusive demon-hunter, who teams with a female police detective to find a serial killer.
