Comics Continuum is reporting that the subject of the fourth film in the series of direct-to-video animated features produced by Lion's Gate will be Doctor Strange. The first film in this Marvel/Lion's Gate series, Ultimate Avengers: The Movie is due out on February 21 followed by a second Avengers feature and then an Iron Man film before Doctor Strange is released in late 2006 (or more likely, early 2007).
Like the other films in this animated series, the Doctor Strange film will be an origin story. Frank Paur, who worked on X-Men: Evolution and Spawn: The Animation is producing and Gary Johnson wrote the screenplays for both the Iron Man and Doctor Strange features. Hardcore Marvel fans will remember the Doctor Strange TV movie from 1978 (and hope that the new Doctor Strange film has a little more of an edge).
