In anticipation of the worldwide premiere of Warner Bros. Superman Returns on June 30, Boomerang, the Cartoon Network's 24-hour commercial free network, will host a 24-hour marathon of the Man of Steel in his various animated incarnations.  On June 24, starting at 6 am Boomerang will present a non-stop showcase of favorite episodes from Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League and Batman Beyond (the MOS made two guest appearances), all of which were produced by animation director Bruce Timm.

Superman Returns is certain to be the comic book-movie event of the mid-summer season, and could well turn out to be one of the major films of the year.  There will be a plethora of Man of Steel-related product available in June (see 'Super DVDs Out in June') including DVD collections of the live action The Adventures of Superman, Superboy, and Lois & Clark series, but retailers shouldn't forget that Superman: The Animated Series Volume 3 (MSRP $26.98), which includes the final 18 episodes of the 54-episode series, and Justice League: Season Two (MSRP $44.98) also debut on DVD on June 20 -- and Boomerang's 'Superman Marathon' can only help to push sales on these animated offerings.
