Paizo Publishing has announced the July release of Infernal Sorceress, the legendary “lost” novel written by Dungeons & Dragons creator Gary Gygax.  Infernal Sorceress is the eleventh and final novel written by Gygax and the first new one published since 1993.  Gygax, one of the key figures in the development of modern gaming, died last March (see “Gary Gygax, 1938-2008”).

The 160-page paperback edition of the Infernal Sorceress ($12.99) is due out on July 28th.  The book introduces two new characters, the dashing swordsman Raker and his cunning daggerman Ferret, who slash their way through a non-stop string of swashbuckling adventures on the planet Aerth, a setting redolent of Earth in the Dark Ages that also served as the background for Gygax’s novels The Anubis Murders, The Samarkand Solution, and Death in Delhi.
