Cubicle 7 Entertainment, Ltd. has acquired rights to publish a role-playing game based on the BBC television series Primeval. The Primeval Core Rulebook is scheduled to release in May 2011.

 

The game (and TV series) feature a team of scientists and soldiers tasked with protecting England from a variety of prehistoric monsters that travel to the modern era through mysterious “anomalies.”  The team must attempt to protect the public as they struggle to preserve the correct timeline and investigate the anomalies.

 

Players of the game can assume the role of the main characters from the show, or create their own.  The game system is the same used in Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space RPG.

 

The Primeval Core Rulebook was written by Gareth Hanrahan and David F. Chapman.  It will be a 256 page full-color hardcover book with a suggested retail price of $39.99.

 

The Primeval TV series was nearly cancelled in late 2009, but has been renewed for two more seasons.  The fourth season began in early 2011.  More details can be found at “Primeval Returns.”
